Scott Ruble, HAIRSPRAY DIRECTOR
Scott Ruble has been a part of the theatre business for nearly 20 years. Having worked on-stage and off-stage in all aspects for national tours and equity houses. Scott can be seen regularly on staff and stage at the Washington County Playhouse. Scott is thrilled to be working with ACT, the staff and cast of Hairspray.
Shalisha Kerr, HAIRSPRAY MUSIC DIRECTOR
Shalisha Nason Kerr lives in Hagerstown and loves supporting the arts in her community! She has been a part of ACT since 2007, participating in many programs over the past 10 years (including SIFTA, original productions, community theatre productions, ACTjr, and Storytelling) in roles ranging from program manager, lead instructor, vocal coach, and accompanist to cast member, intern, makeup artist, art instructor, and set designer! She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, and she also completed her Master of Music degree and post-graduate Artist Diploma (both in Voice Performance) at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA. She enjoys performing in all vocal styles and loves to be on stage, especially when she can collaborate with other performers! Some of her favorite roles have been The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, Miss Hannigan in Annie, Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot, and Cathleen in Riders to the Sea. She currently works as a private voice and piano instructor, Music Director of Lifehouse Church, a freelance performer and visual artist, and President of Authentic Community Theatre’s Board of Directors!
Sharayah Bishop, HAIRSPRAY CHOREOGRAPHER
Robbie Soto, HAIRSPRAY PRODUCER
Robbie Soto has been involved in the theater community in Washington County for over a decade. After attending college at Full Sail University for film, he made the switch from stage to screen. Robbie wrote and directed his first film REMINISCE which is now set for national and international distribution. Robbie made the return to theater 2 years ago when his late uncle (Ralph Mauriello) was in need of some actors for a show he was directing and has loved every minute of it. He joined the board of ACT in 2015 and currently serves as the Program Manager for our Community Theatre!
Tiffany Vinson, HAIRSPRAY CO-PRODUCER
Tiffany was born and raised in the Hagerstown area. She has a very diverse background in employment opportunities; such as customer service, behavioral consultant, management and sales to name a few. She graduated from HCC with an Associates degree in Psychology and is continuing her education to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis of Applied Behavioral Analysis. Tiffany has also enjoyed working in the film industry for many years. Tiffany was introduced to the film industry by working with Rags 2 Riches Productions on the film Greencastle. She then came on board with Dark Ronin Media Group to participate in producing the films Reminisce, November Lies, Love Between the Sheets and a Very Hanover Christmas, to name a few. She has worn many different hats in these productions behind the scenes, as well as on set; some of which were Production Manager, Production Coordinator, Line Producer, and Assistant Director. Tiffany is very excited to begin her new adventure with ACT as the Stage Manager!
Charlemagne McNeil, HAIRSPRAY COSTUME DESIGN
Charlemagne graduated from HCC with her AA in theater (spring 2017). During her time at HCC she was the costume shop student worker and the recipient of the 2017 Robinwood Players Drama Award. Besides the Robinwood Players, she has been acting with many amazing groups in the area in both lead and ensemble roles. She is currently the head costume designer at the Washington County Playhouse where she costumed Gigi and is currently costuming The Addams Family: A New Musical. She was an actor in ACT’s Storytelling Program and costume assistant for SIFTA (summer 2017). She is delighted to be working with the creative and supportive team at ACT!
ACT JR: SPRING SEMESTER
Kristen Davis, Spring Musical Theatre
Kristen Davis has been dancing for 18 years and fell in love with musical theatre while studying dance at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. She graduated this past spring from Hagerstown Community College and was very active in their theatre and dance departments. Kristen was a member of HCC’s Dance Company for 2 years, and served as the dance captain for several of their musicals. Kristen won Miss Washington County in 2017. Kristen currently serves as our Dancing in Character instructor for ACT Jr and teaches dance classes at Ballet and All That Jazz, directing their Junior Company for 3 years. Her most recent theatre credits include: Babette in Beauty and the Beast (CCT), Witch #1/Lady Macduff in Macbeth (HCC), Meg in Little Women: The Musical (HCC), Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest (MEG), Wednesday in The Addams Family: The Musical (HCC), and Maggie in A Chorus Line (HCC).
Michelle Steshoski, Spring Musical Theatre
Michelle Steshoski is excited to be joining Authentic Community Theater as an Acting instructor. Michelle has been acting, singing and dancing since she was 10 years old. Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater for Youth from Shenandoah University Conservatory. After graduating college she went on to direct the fall plays and direct and choreograph the spring musicals at South Carroll High School. Michelle took a small break from theater to get married and started a family. Since her children are a little older, she is excited to get back into the theater world of teaching, directing and performing! For the past 3 years, Michelle has directed summer theater camps at a private school in Frederick, MD. Michelle also has her Master of Arts in Teaching from Liberty University and is currently a public school teacher for Berkeley County Public Schools.
Sarah Miller, Spring ACTing
Sarah Nicole Miller has been performing since a young age and has a passion for acting. She is excited to be working with ACT and sharing the joy of acting with her students! Sarah interned with YROC Drama Ministry in Hagerstown, MD for two years. The past four years she has served as their Assistant Director. Sarah also trained with Actors, Models, and Talent for Christ in 2014, with a focus on acting for film. One of her biggest passions is young people. Whether working with the YROC teens, her drama students at church, or the 2 year-old she nannys, Sarah finds great joy in investing in the lives of youth. She’s thankful to have the opportunity to teach the ACT Jr. students and invest in their lives as well!
Jake Young, SPRING ACTUP! HIGH SCHOOL/YOUNG ADULT ACTING
Jake is a local director and teaching artist from Frederick, MD. He recently graduated from Susquehanna University with a BA is Theatre-Performance and German in May 2016. As well as directing with Authentic Community Theatre, he also works for a non-profit called Project Change teaching acting classes to Middle School students in Montgomery County. During the past three years he has directed with a variety of companies including Wildwood Summer Theatre, CulturalDC Source Festival and In The Wings.
Julia Cowles, Aladdin Jr Director
Julia is so excited to be making her directorial debut with ACT! Julia graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2012 with her BFA in Musical Theater, since graduation she has worked as a voice teacher, choreographer and music teacher with various companies throughout the DMV. In addition to teaching, Julia has done local productions including The Music Man, Julius Caesar, Into the Woods and Bells are Ringing and even played a victim on the Discovery ID show “Who the Bleep…”. Julia is currently a substitute for MCPS but plans on going to grad school to get her Masters degree and teaching certification. Other than theater Julia is most passionate about her two rescue dogs (Isabella and Chica) and cooking for her family.
Hannah Pickerall, Aladdin Jr Music Director
Hannah has been involved in music since she was a little kid. She went to Barbara Ingram School For the Arts for vocal performance which started her love of musical theater. She plays piano, sings, and band directs at Lifehouse Church. She recently Music Directed ACTs production of ELFjr and is excited to continue with this semesters production of Aladdin Jr!
